The Introduction to Riding is a four-hour introductory course for beginning riders to offer a comfortable introduction and familiarity of motorcycle controls and basic operation: Control familiarization, Friction Zone use, Starting/Stopping, and Shifting. This course does not include any testing.
While in this class, riders will learn the primary controls of a motorcycle and become confident with the fundamentals of starting, stopping, shifting, cornering and slow speed maneuvers. Riders will also learn basic hazard avoidance skills such as stopping quickly and swerving. In the classroom, we will have the opportunity to discuss choices we make as riders, strategies to reduce risk and ways to increase the enjoyment we get out riding. This is the class to learn how to ride and offers the permit level testing.
The Learn to Ride Refresher and the Returning Rider Training are intermediate rider training courses designed for riders with riding experience; a 1-day course on smaller sized training motorcycles. The Learn to Ride Refresher training is a fundamental refresher course ending with permit level testing. The Returning Rider Training is for more experienced, seasoned riders looking to fine-tune techniques and mental skills. The Returning Rider Training ends with endorsement level testing.
The Advanced Street Skills Level 1 and Level 2 programs are for riders that want to be more comfortable and confident in their ability to mitigate risks and prevent emergencies before they occur and be better skilled to avoid and react when needed. If you are looking to have a better understanding of the capabilities and limits of your motorcycle(s) and improve your skills to better match your bike, then this is the training for you. Level 1 offers the endorsement level testing.
This extra training provides an opportunity to gain additional riding skills using our motorcycles with our instructors. Many new riders choose to take additional training to save the cost of purchasing a "learning" bike, or to save the time it would take to repeat the entire basic course. This class focuses on riding skills only and skips any classroom time.
Being able to properly maintain and care for your motorcycle is more than just about saving money or the joy of spending time with your bike, it is also about safety. Our care and maintenance courses are essential to staying safe on the road by avoiding mechanical failures that could result a crash. Stay safe and don't let a roadside breakdown ruin your next ride. For less than the cost of a single tune-up we can teach you what EVERY rider should know about their motorcycle.
